Iron & Wine - The Shepherd's Dog
Best Albums of the Decade: #26.
Iron & Wine really set the trend for indie-folk music in the Noughties - opening the door to a tidal wave of beardy bands like Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver to enter the mainstream later on in the decade. His rootsy, ethereal brand of one-man-and-his-guitar americana is the perfect soundtrack for staring at the clouds on a hot summer day. (This album only just beat out his equally good earlier album Our Endless Numbered Days in the chart by virtue of it being on Spotify)
