Arriving in 2002, Interpol were grouped together with the rest of the ‘New Rock Revolution’ but never quite seemed to fit. Whilst a lot of the other bands were about the brash return of rock and roll, Interpol’s dark, brooding songs had more in common with Joy Division and Television and this first album is full of huge, atmospheric indie-rock songs.
